The research laboratory “functional examination of genes associated with intellectual disability” was established and launched

A research laboratory supported by the Cognitive Sciences and Technology Council, to evaluate the genes function affecting intellectual disability was established and launched at the Genetic Research Center of the University of Social Welfare and Rehabilitation Sciences.

A research laboratory supported by the Cognitive Sciences and Technology Council, to evaluate the genes function affecting intellectual disability was established and launched at the Genetic Research Center of the University of Social Welfare and Rehabilitation Sciences.

The Director of the Genetic Research Center of the USWR said:” Most cases of intellectual disabilities are of genetic and monogenetic origin, and dysfunction of genes related to nervous system causes mental disability.”

Regarding this and with the aim of functional examination of the new genes related to intellectual disability identified by this research center, a research laboratory at the Genetic Center was launched performing a research proposal sponsored by the Cognitive Sciences and Technologies Council and a team of three researchers of Genetic Research Center.
