Shutting down part of our brain can make us more creative

Scientists have recently found new things which can enhance the creativity by stimulating different parts of the brain. To improve the creativity the scientists from Queen Mary University of London (QMUL) and Goldsmiths University of London have applied various techniques.

Using lose dose electric current the researchers have developed natural kind of brain wave that is important during wakeful relaxation like daydreaming.

This phenomenon has enhanced the creativity in the brain by more than 7% which is shown by a well-established test. This was achieved by suppressing the major part of the frontal brain called left dorsolateral prefrontal cortex (DLPFC), involved in thinking and reasoning.

The findings of the study have been published in the journal Scientific Reports which shows the participants with improved creativity who have received the intervention. The study available here.
