The National Brain Mapping Lab (NBML) held a 3-day theoretical and practical workshop on perfusion imaging, diffusion imaging, and MRS, which was specialized for radiology technicians, students of biomedical engineering, medical physics, medical imaging and specialists and residents of neurology, neurosurgery, neuroscience, and psychiatry. This event was held on October 23 to 25, 2019.
During the 3-day workshop, the following topics were instructed by Dr. Guive Sharifi, Dr. Hasan Hashemi, Dr. Sadegh Masjoudi, Dr. Omid Ghaemi, Dr. Mohammad Reza Nazem-zadeh, Majid Saberi, and Behrouz Vejdani Afkham:
Day 1:
- Basics of MR Imaging
- Theories on perfusion imaging
- Clinical applications of perfusion imaging
- Introducing protocols and parameters of perfusion imaging
- Working with perfusion imaging analysis soft wares
Day 2:
- Theories of diffusion imaging
- Mathematics of DTI
- Clinical applications of diffusion imaging
- Introducing the protocols and artifacts of diffusion imaging
- Working with diffusion imaging analysis soft wares
- Introduction to the computational server of NBML and how to use it
Day 3:
- Theory of NMR
- Basics of MRS imaging
- Clinical applications of MRS
- Parameters, protocols, and artifacts of MRS
- Work with MRS image analysis soft wares
15 CME was granted to the participants of the workshop.
