Third Summer School of Cognitive Neuroscience concentrated on Brain Stimulation -August, 2019

Shiraz Neuroscience Research Center held the third Summer School of Cognitive Neuroscience collaborating with the National Brain Mapping Laboratory on 17-19 August 2019 at Prof. Abdi-Nejad Auditorium in Shahid Chamran Hospital.

Through this school focusing on brain stimulation, workshops were held on the magnetic brain stimulation, electrical brain stimulation, and deep brain stimulation.

After the opening ceremony, lectures and workshops were presented in the following order:

first day:

• Dr. Leila Ali Beigloo (history, function, and TMS types)
• Dr. Sina Salehi (TMS practical section)

Second day:

• Dr. Anahita Khorami (an introduction to TDCS, neurophysiology of TDCS, and TDCS practical section)
• Dr. Valentina Lorenzetti, Melbourne University (the neurobiology of addiction)

Third day:

• Prof. Mousa Taghipour (Secondary ingenuity as disease symptom)
• Dr. Vahid Ostovan (DBS applications and patient selection)
• Dr. Sina Salehi (neurophysiology of DBS)
• Dr. Ahmad Soltani (DBS: surgery)

At the end of the third day, Prof. Majid Reza Farrokhi lectured at the closing ceremony
