According to the Iran Science Watch reporter, the Iranian Psychiatry Association has awarded Akhavini prize in the name of Rabi 'ibn Ahmad Akhavini, the honored Persian physician, in order to appreciate researches and services in the neuropsychiatry filed. This biennial prize has been granted in two sections of research and service on July 26-27, 2018.

The first elect of Akhavini prize was Dr. Maryam Norouzian, the professor of psychiatry at Tehran University of Medical Sciences, who is a specialist in the fields of neurology with the focus on memory disorder of elderly and cognitive disorders caused by the neurologic, psychologic and internal medicine diseases.

Neuropsychiatry is an area focusing on the behavioral-brain relations as well as evaluating and treating patients with neurologic diseases who suffers from cognitive, emotional and behavioral disorders simultaneously, Iran Science Watch reported.
