Researchers in the cognitive sciences field are working with the support of Cognitive Sciences and Technology Council, to conduct the study of “early diagnosis of Alzheimer” and to prevent the development of this neurodegenerative disease by empowering cognitive capabilities.

The main aim of this research project is to examine and compare combined brain imaging data sets of normal brains, people with mild cognitive disorders and individuals in the early stage of the disease,” said Dr. Seyed-Mahdi Khaligh-Razavi, the director of this research project. “Through this research, temporal and spatial dynamics of participants’ neural networks are compared with each other while performing a visual-motor test,” he also added.

The research projects on the early diagnosis of Alzheimer is conducted on volunteers at several phases and over 200 individuals have been screened at the first phase and among them, people with mild cognitive disorder or Alzheimer entered into the phase of Magnetic Resonance Imaging and Electroencephalography.
