In order to develop knowledge and technology in cognitive sciences, researchers from biomedical engineering group of University of Tehran in cooperation with physicists from University of Sao Paolo (USP), in the form of a joint international research project, are on a quest to find methods for processing and analyzing data from vital signals to predict human intelligence using brain images.

Dr. Hamid Soltanian-Zadeh, professor at electrical and computer engineering school of University of Tehran, said: These researchers, are subjecting volunteer students to non-invasive tests to predict their IQ by using brain images, in order to keep up with the science and technology of the world today, and helping them advance with the development of new strategies.

He added: we hope, by developing new methods of data analysis, we find a significant relationship between human intelligence and information contained in MRI images and then predict human intelligence by using these images.
