NBML the sponsor of the 9th Royan International Summer School with a focus on brain and cognitive sciences

The 9th Royan summer school was held during 5 days (July 14-18 2018) at Royan Institute with the purpose of training the brain and cognitive sciences in line with an introduction to the students at various basic sciences, medical and engineering disciplines.

The 9th Royan summer school was held during 5 days (July 14-18 2018) at Royan Institute with the purpose of training the brain and cognitive sciences in line with an introduction to the students at various basic sciences, medical and engineering disciplines.

Participants were introduced to many topics such as the formation of human brain in fetus, the brain organoids as the human brain models, Electrophysiology, Optogenics, neuroscience-related diseases such as Alzheimer, method of studying brain such as Functional Magnetic Resonance Imaging (fMRI), Magnetoencephalography (EEG-MEG), Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS) as well as Artificial Intelligence- related topics in the field of neurosciences.

On the second day (July 15, 2018), participants were acquainted with the principals and methods of fMRI, widely used imaging method for studying the brain, by Dr. Gholam- Ali Hossein-Zadeh, the deputy of science and technology at NBML.

On the fourth day (July 17, 2018), the participants of the event totaled 200 persons, in 4 groups that were divided into subgroups, visited the different sections of NBML. The experts of each NBML’s section provided them with some explanations on existing tools and services.
