The first image bank of Iranian emotional face with the support of the Cognitive Sciences and Technologies Council at Shahid Beheshti University

A research team with the support of the Cognitive Sciences and Technologies Council succeeded to design the first image bank of Iranian emotional face as a research proposal.

Dr. Shahriar Shahidi, a faculty member of Shahid Beheshti University and the executor of the research proposal said: “the image bank of Iranian emotional face was designed based on three emotive characteristics of arousal, value, and dominance at this scientific center.

According to him, the identification of various cognitive states, emotions, and individual affects, assessment of emotional intelligence, aid to the treatment of emotional disorders such as depression by inducing and increasing positive emotions are among applications of the emotional image bank.

He also added: “the aim of this proposal, which was performed incorporation with Dr. Vahid Nejati, a faculty member and graduate students of this university, is to provide an image bank of Iranian emotional face proportional to Iranian culture.”
