The ‘Applications of Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS) in Neuroscience, Neurorehabilitation and Neurology Research’ workshop, was held in national brain mapping lab on 26 February 2018, with more than 15 participant of the fields: medical physics, biomedical engineering, electrical engineering, psychiatry, rehabilitation, etc.

Lecturer:

Dr. Laila Alibiglou (Postdoctoral Fellowship from Northwestern University, Chicago, USA)

PROGRAM OBJECTIVES:

During this seminar, the attendees will become familiar with different applications of TMS, and different types of studies that can be designed and performed using TMS. By completion of the seminar, the participants should be able to:

  • Understand the potential applications of TMS in neuro research
  • Learn about some of the most recent studies in the fields of neuroscience, neurology and neurorehabilitation that have been conducted by using TMS
  • Appreciate the importance of the clear, focused and right research questions for TMS studies
  • Describe the advantages and disadvantages of TMS
