The "cognitive science - linguistics" discipline was created at Tarbiat Modares University

A faculty member of the school of linguistics announced that: In order to develop the knowledge of cognitive science and promote cognitive linguistics, the "cognitive science - linguistics" discipline was created at Tarbiat Modares University, and the educational activity of this discipline has started this year with the admission of students at this university.

In an interview with the news section of the Cognitive Science and Technologies Council (CSTC), Dr. Sahar Bahrami said: "cognitive science-linguistics" along with "cognitive psychology" has an important place in the field of cognitive science.

She said: the Department of Linguistics of the University intends to detect and eliminate deficiencies after the first course, and with invitation of the professors and experts of this field from other educational groups of Tarbiat Modares University and other reputable universities of the country, and with the admission of students in both theoretical linguistics And cognitive science - linguistics, extend their domain of activity, especially in the cognitive science of language.

Dr. Bahrami also added: according to the motivation and purposes of the creation of this major, and it's multi-disciplinary nature, we expect from the students to be able to present ideas and research strategies in psychologic aspects, process and learning of language, grammatical studies, designing of online networks for Persian language, clinical trials for language like pathology and study the causes of language vulnerability during growth and study the brain disorders that cause various types of aphasia, and also researches in artificial intelligence and Stereotyping in order to recreate brain's cognitive functions and etc.
